Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V & Digimon Crossover

The following contains both accounts of the A timeline (anime depiction) and the M timeline (manga depiction) which for me were linear events, though treated as a normal reincarnation would be, with a memory wipe.

This means I technically lived two lives as Akaba Reiji. These are organized below as, 'Timeline A' and 'Timeline M'.

World Structure

Timeline A

Something rather important to note about this timeline is that the canon material fails to capture the more grounded and realistic aspects of the world. It never showed the depravity of City to its full extent (a better depiction would be in 5Ds) and Miami City was also not without its flaws, yet they were glossed over.
LEO Corporation was a powerhouse and the most influential company in the region, meaning that I had full control over an entire city at the age of 15 - even if I was being observed by my mother and Nakajima.

Many of the actions that we collectively did were not moral. We were harsh, selfish, often cruel, and occasionally flat out abusive.
I was not a person who was an exception to this, being rather young yet thrust into a position of such responsibility and power I had my many failings to temptation to abuse it, some of which are accounted below.

Canon Deviations:

  • After Zarc was sealed by Reira the timeline reset and became Timeline M rather than the continuation shown in the anime.
  • Everyone who was carded was never brought back.
  • Many of us had far more mental outbursts, psychological issues, and confrontations not depicted in the anime.
  • I was mixed race, my father was Black, and my mother was either Japanese or White (unknown nationality).

Timeline M

Like with the previous timeline, many of the darkest aspects of society were never shown, including but not limited to; crime, card trafficking, physical assault, abuse, and political corruption.

Canon Deviations:

  • Though I'm still unsure entirely, Yuya was likely transmale or a very masculine presenting cisfemale.
  • All of us were about 3 years older than we had been in Timeline A. (Yuya was 17, I was 19 etc)
  • As before, I was mixed race.

Childhood

Timeline A

Follows the events of the anime completely, there are no deviations that I'm aware of other than additional details that were not shown.

I was cautious when Reira was first presented to our organization. I'm unsure still if the war that he was saved from was somehow involved with us, but I know that the situation around adopting him was not usual.
It was only after some time I saw Reira as my younger brother, and had mixed feelings when mother began to experiment on him. We ultimately related to each other through our mutual suppression of our emotions, though Reira's wasn't intentional so when they resurfaced were volatile.

Timeline M

I was born as the only child to the head of the LEO corporation, which specialized in developing and researching new technology around Solid Vision - essentially holograms with physical mass.

I was very interested in science and was already using computers to perform programmable tasks from a young age. This was, however, aided by the fact our house had a computer AI which would act as my 'second parent' when father was busy with work. I'm currently unsure where my mother was, but I did not have one.

I remember father implying at points he wanted a daughter rather than a son, but I don't remember why. This I feel pushed me to become more interested in his work and show I could be of use to him regardless, which he did show appreciation for and came to respect my opinions.
It was not an unpleasant home life; if anything, it's likely one of the better ones I had, but as with all families, it had its ups and downs.

I went to school normally, though after I surpassed the classes I was sent to take specialized university classes instead. This meant I was rather lonely with no friends my own age, and would attempt to get my father's attention in sometimes immature ways.

Reira & Others

Timeline A

Again pretty much just like the anime, though I was very close with Reira, much closer than was shown, though it was mostly in private away from others.
I always enjoyed teaching and having someone who took on what I said and could offer in such a straightforward accepting way helped me form a very close emotional bond with Reira.

Reira was fembodied and had no concept of gender till later where they presented as male. They were saved from a warring country due to a political scheme the LEO corporation was a part of, and so Reira had sometimes chronic PTSD episodes, identity issues, and high emotional sensitivity.

Reira's body channeling Ray's spirit did not alter Reira's own gender identity to be female. Reira taking in Zarc's spirit resulted in Reira being killed, but Ray as an act of 'thanks' for what they had done offered to place Reira's spirit somewhere else, and due to our bond Reira picked me as a future host, resulting in them becoming my headmate in the next timeline. However, they were weak and only truly started to become vocal once I had become Sakamaki Reiji.

Timeline M

Most of my connections were on a purely work-based relationship. I wasn't good at knowing how to socialize due to being so isolated in my youth and I ultimately resigned myself to sorting through my issues on my own.

I may have had a few acquaintances but it wasn't until after The World Illusion where time was turned back that I had to set out to make more connections to achieve my goals. This is when I established my own corporation by using my knowledge from the future to quickly establish myself and fund my own development of technology.

Due to me feeling that Yuya's father was directly responsible for the death of my own father along with in part the destruction of our future world I attempted to track him down to fight him for the power of GOD to possibly find a way to restore things to how they once were and to challenge the Gods to obtain ascension. (Elaborated more in the second part)

I have yet to recall many things, but I know that I was very good friends with Issac, so much so I could call him one of my closest friends. I was also friends with Ren, though we were more neutral and he got along more so with Yuya - the glue who kept us all together as a group.

Sakaki Yuya

Timeline A

Before the reset I had a keen interest in Yuya which eventually evolved into an obsession.

After Yuya's father popularized Dueltaining through his Action Duels and vanished soon after, the sudden media spike caught my interest and I learned he had a son.

I spent much of my time in front of monitors already monitoring Miami City, so surveillance capabilities were already at my disposal, and I would often take time out of my day to see what he was up to as I developed a slowly increasing interest in Yuya Sakaki.
I was somewhat isolated at LDS, and I'd always struggled to make friends being a very bright student and prioritizing my learning over socializing. I couldn't relate to others growing up, which I carried that through most of my life. Even more so when my father abandoned us, resulting in my mother becoming more strict with me and further encouraging me to work hard.
I believed I had to act as the new head of the family, and through that weight of responsibility suppressed most of my emotions and childish behaviors.

I was curious about how Yuya thought, and Dueltainment was something.. 'alien' to me. As someone who's primarily logic-based, I saw emotional influence as a form of ability and power that I was completely devoid of. My father worked with Yuya's father, and through their work connections, I was influenced by my father's respect for him, allowing me past my initial pride of logic to consider the merit of bringing entertainment to people.
Yuya Sakaki was emotion and I was logic, and so as they say.. "opposites attract".

It is not much to imply I became Yuya's stalker to some degree, as that's ultimately what I was, and a behavior to track him down was something that continued to persist after the reset - however my actions were far more morally grey before the reset, than after.

Timeline M

I learned of Yuya much later on in this timeline, where I was already somewhere around age 15.
I'm also still currently unsure what Yuya's gender/sex was in this timeline. They may have been a FtM, a tomboyish presenting cis female, or a soft-featured cis male. Either way, I know I originally thought they were male and addressed them as such.

Yuya this time was not someone I took a positive interest in, but a negative one. I blamed his father for the death of my own and felt I had to fight him for the power of GOD, and also eventually for his Adam Factor.

Rather than being obsessed with him, I was driven by my desire to fight him for what I believed was the right thing to do. It was a clash of ideals, driven by anger, and Yuya carrying a guilt that he sought to amend by showing me the appeal of Action Duels - something I refused to take part in due to his father's invention of it.

I was driven mad with revenge, yet through some act of inconceivable good will on Yuya's part, I was eventually shown what truly mattered, and I softened. I ultimately gave up the power of the GOD card as a result of what he showed me: kindness, and a love for being alive in spite of the pain that life brings.

There on I accepted his friendship, and eventually, we became romantic partners with a long-lasting healthy relationship, eventually marrying. This is the only romantic relationship I remember in any timeline.
